Hays engineering working together with our client, an established manufacturer of machined components and assembled and sub-assembled component parts to the aerospace industry, to recruit for a CNC Miller.

A global organisation, collectively they service a variety of manufacturing industries and operate a system of “long-term participation” from clients, ensuring the security of their contracts and their ability to continually improve Quality and NPI processes.

Your new role
We are looking for an experienced machinist, specifically with milling and grinding skills to work alongside their established team on a temporary ongoing basis whilst they work through a period of increased demand.

Main purpose of the job:

To produce quality machined components in line with the company’s SLA and quality guidelines, efficiently and accurately.

* Work to scheduled production programme, using existing machine operating systems.
* Undertake any minor changes necessary to the programme in line with supervisor to produce products within the client’s limitations.
* Ensure machining processes are undertaken at optimum efficiencies.
* Ensure all machined components are accompanied by the correct route card, with amendments attached
* Liaise with supervisors to highlight any concerns with the products quality in a timely manner
* Adhere to company quality procedures as per company quality manual ISO90001

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally time served, we are looking for an experienced machinist who is able to work on a three-shift rotation basis, including nights.
The successful person will come from a CNC operations background with some experience in programming and setting, and be experienced in the production of precision-machined parts.

Three-shift rotation basis, including nights and £8.00 to £10.00 per hour.

Your new role
In this role you will undertake a senior role within the company, responsible for managing the design team within the company and the supervision of CAD Technicians of all 2D and 3D drawings produced by the established team of CAD Technicians. Other responsibilities will include planning and forecasting of workload, co-ordinating operational requirements and attending/leading design team meetings

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you should, as a minimum, have 3 years technical drawing experience within a construction environment and have previously held a management/leadership role within a technical team. Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD is essential while Revit experience would be an advantage.

My client provides a wide range of Building Management Service (BMS) products including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Lighting Control systems to the public sector, commercial companies, schools and hospitals from their offices in Belfast, London and Dublin, they have successfully worked on major multi-million projects such as Titanic Visitor Centre in Belfast.

To support their continued growth in Northern Ireland we now need to recruit a full time permanent Sales Executive to focus on the Service and Maintenance side of the business. You will work closely with the Regional Director and Sales Manager. This is a new role.

My client has a team of highly experienced/qualified technicians and engineers who install and commissioning new systems to a very high standard, they also have the capability to inspect, service, maintain, repair and upgrade older systems to help reduce running costs, extend working life or ensure compliance with modern environmental standards. 

Working across NI, your primary role will be to identify and convert customers who are ‘stuck’ in maintenance contracts and uncover those customers who feel they are being over charged or are just looking for a better service. You will also help promote the company at networking events and get involved in marketing to help raise the company profile with potential clients. 

You will be a self-motivated individual who enjoys building relationships with new customers. You will be able to work under your own direction, be able to manage your own diary and you’ll like the buzz of the sale. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include proven report writing and sales presentation skills. You will have the ability to confidently engage with various levels of staff across the company and end-user clients/prospects.

Previous experience of BMS / HVAC a distinct advantage but not essential. You must have 2-3 years’ experience of selling a service or technical solution, ideally in the electrical / contracting sector. A qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering would be advantageous. Technical knowledge training will be provided.

Salary is negotiable but expect to earn circa £25,000 with commission in first year, package includes company car, mobile, laptop, company pension scheme, 28 days holiday. Working hours Monday to Friday from modern office based on Boucher Road in Belfast.

Essential: A good mechanical and electrical knowledge along with previous plant maintenance experience. A full driving licence with categories B + E and good customer service skills.

  • You will be comfortable in a fast-paced envionment and working with a production team
  • Candidates with formal qualifications in design/ mechanical engineering will have an advantage
  • Candidates with a knowledge of type approval will have an advantage as will those with electrical/ hydraulic knowledge.

Our client is a market leader in the dairy foods industry. They are now looking for a Factory Engineering Manager to join their team and relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In this exciting role, you’ll be given full travel and housing support as you relocate to Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh. As the Factory Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for implementing our client’s preventative maintenance systems. 

Specifically, you’ll ensure that all mechanical and electrical equipment is available and fully functioning at all times. You’ll effectively organise resources and labour to minimise downtime within set budgets. 

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, you’ll utilise your engineering expertise to assist the Project Team with the design and installation of production lines. 

Ensuring that control measures are in place, you’ll make sure that H&S review and audit plans are adhered to. Additionally, you’ll review and recommend training to enhance employees’ skill-sets across the business. 

Your other duties will involve:

- Identifying and assessing any business risks 
- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Effectively controlling engineering expenditures 

To be considered, you must have:

- At least ten years’ engineering management experience, gained within dairy and/or liquid food environment
- Experience of overseeing and working within a multi-skilled team in a dairy and/or liquid food environment
- Project management experience 
- Extensive knowledge of dairy processing equipment, high speed packaging machinery and control systems, including the research, design and development of automated machinery

Approachable and confident, as the Factory Engineering Manager, you must have a positive outlook and the ability to motivate others. Exceptional problem-solving and planning skills are also key.

Reed Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside a leading Engineering Company and have an immediate requirement for a Technical Writer to join their successful team in Co.Down.

Part of the Commercial Team, to provide support to the Asset Team with the contractual accountability for the Project Omega Contract, ensuring the preparation and processing of contractually and commercially compliant and technically accurate requests for Mid-Life Capital Expenditure (MLCE), within appropriate timescales, using the contractual process.

-       Conduct all activities in accordance with H&S processes and procedures

-       Supply and analyse complex information to/from the team / external clients, to ensure requests for Mid-Life Capital Expenditure are prepared and submitted in accordance to contractual processes and requirements.

-       Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Assets, O&M) to ensure commercial processes and procedures are adhered to with regards to MLCE

-       Identify, prioritise and make recommendations to the team and/or line management on technical developments that may improve business processes.

-       Support whole life costing of proposed solutions, Totex approach & NPV  to contribute to the development of the SPIP/5YIP/AIP

-       Contribute to and influence the rest of the project team and assist in the overall project delivery.

-       In conjunction with and support to the Asset Manager review specifications and tender documents for procurement packages

-       Participate in competitive tendering and reporting.

-       Manage own activities and interactions to optimise and improve service delivery of requests for MLCE, through the development and promotion of best practices.

-       Monitor and review performance of contractors with the Asset Manager and build cooperative working relationships with external stakeholders.

-       Compiling and / or reviewing route cause analysis

-       Performing data capture analysis

-       Researching historical evidence for claims.

-       In conjunction with the Asset Manager ensure that contractual and operational documents are updated where necessary, as directed by Management.

Qualifications: 

• Minimum HNC qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering 
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to construct robust commercial arguments from technical information
• Be technically conversant with waste water treatment processes and understanding of sludge incineration processes 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong Presentation and Report Writing skills
• Ability to liaise at all levels.
• Working knowledge of IT packages (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, CAD, Databases, etc)
• Self-motivation and ability to prioritise work load
• Work as an effective team player.
• Knowledge of business procedures.
• Awareness of Totex / Whole Life Costing

Our client is a well-established manufacturing organisation offering bespoke solutions to a diverse customer base across the construction sector.

They are now seeking applications for the post of Structural Engineer for their team based in Co Antrim. 

Working closely with the estimating team, the successful applicant will deliver design solutions for concrete structures within the civils sector.

Criteria:  

  • Chartered Engineer with a minimum 2 years’ experience within structural design of concrete structures
  • Fully conversant with current structural Eurocodes (EC 0-3).
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Good communication skills
  • Precast experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
